If you like to sew for little girls, chances are you’ve heard of the Emmaline. If you haven’t heard about it, well, I am here to tell you about this gorgeous dress!
It’s a brand new pattern out by Violette Field Threads and it’s been spreading across Pinterest like wildfire! And for good reason!
The Emmaline is a maxi dress for little girls. And it has tons of ruffles!
This is the first pattern I have made by Violette Field Threads. The pattern was really well written with clear instructions and lots of pictures to help you through.
The pattern offers a choice of using store-bought bias tape, or making your own. I’ve always been too scared to make my own, but with the simple instructions and pictures to guide me through, I successfully made my own bias tape for the first time!
The Emmaline features a ruffled neckline, a ruffled hem (with the option of 1 – 3 ruffles) and a sweet halter top.
This pattern would be suitable for the advanced (or confident) beginner and beyond.
Oh… and it has great twirl factor!

This dress is GORGEOUS!! Beautiful work!
Thanks
I love it! Great job!
Thanks I love it too!
I absolutely LOVE it! You should be so proud!!

Thanks Jenny! It’s a great pattern. I’m so happy with the way it turned out.
What were the dimensions of the piece of fabric you used to make the bias tape. It says a 1/4yd piece but that does not create a square for me in order to create the triangle shown. HELP!!!
